We celebrate Catholic education

During World Catholic Education Week held May 10-14 we gave thanks for the gift of Catholic Education. This year's theme: Rejoicing in Hope – hope in our hearts, homes, schools, communities and the world. Daily prayers by staff and students in our schools focused on these themes. On Thursday, May 13 – World Catholic Education Day – all schools celebrated an at-school liturgy to mark the occasion. We are thankful to Saskatchewan 's bishops for their support of this special week - read their letter here. Join us in giving thanks for Catholic Education and rejoicing in the hope it offers our students.

Willowgrove-area schools move forward
March 18, 2010
Premier Brad Wall announced a new Catholic school will be built in Saskatoon's Willowgrove neighbourhood. It will be located in a joint facility with Saskatoon Public Schools - which is also building a school - and the City of Saskatoon. Consultation will continue with the Willowgrove community about its wants and needs for the new Catholic school. "Like each of the schools in our division, it will be a place of learning and of faith," said Board Chair Diane Boyko. Read the Government of Saskatchewan news release here.
Construction starts on new Humboldt Collegiate Institute

Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools and Horizon School Division have forged a unique relationship to jointly manage and operate Humboldt Collegiate Institute (HCI). An event was held to celebrate the start of construction of the new HCI, which will be linked to the Humboldt Uniplex. Read more.
